A few months ago, I noticed that a, once reknowned, minister by the name of Carlton Pearson had been rejected by his Alma Mater - Oral Roberts University - because Pearson had begun to preach what he called a Gospel of Inclusion, in which he said Buddhist, Muslims, etc. are all going to Heaven, because they have faith.
I was taken aback, to my second year in Bible college, when I had the same thought. The only thing is, I sought the Lord, to see what He was saying and, as it turned out, He wasn't saying anything to me.
It's simple, in Isaiah, the Lord says, "'For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are My ways your ways,' declares the Lord."
Today, many are demanding that every person, who has faith, has a right to believe as he or she desires. Rights aside, many of these will not enter into the heaven, provided by the King, Who, alone is our Savior and Risen Lord.
Why? Because Jesus, Himself, said, "I am THE Way, THE Truth and THE Life; no one comes to the Father BUT THROUGH ME."
Nothing else needs to be said - except this: By today's standards, Christians are being put down. We're expected to take the brunt, of everything the world can throw, turn the other cheak and then sit down and shut up. We're expected to sit, idly by, while the ways of the world multiply and get worse. Homosexuals are given rights we Christians are denied. Drunks and drug addicts, as well as any number of other sinful habits are being called illnesses. But, should we attempt to show these, who are bound by these, so-called, illnesses the Way, we're told to get out of the way and made to be villains in a world that has enough villany.
It's been about 4 1/2 years since I was dining at the local Chik-Fil-A and happened to glance at the editorial page of the USAToday newspaper. I read the headline, where a writer was villifying "Religious Spirit in Sports." This writer was demanding that show of "religion" (his word) had no place in sports arenas. He suggested that players, who prayed, crossed themselves or did anything else that could be construed as "religious," should be penalized. My letter to the editor appeared in print, two days later. In my letter, I raised the opposing view that this writer may have overlooked the fact that players swear and even said, "Being Deaf I am capable of reading the lips of pitchers, who become upset and sling the 'F' word up and down the mound. I'm sure those, who oppose so-called 'religious expression,' wouldn't care but I have to wonder about the children, in the stands, who will take these expressions home and try to emulate their heroes."
And that's exactly how I feel. In a world, where we're told Separati0n of Church and State is a Constitutional edict, I feel the nation needs to re-look at the Constitution because, we're sliding into the same mire that brought down many other strong nations.
That mire is simply the inability to worship and obey Almighty God. Unless we cease from our wicked ways, the United States probably won't be around in a few more years.
